Iowa State Softball Camp(s) will be held
at the Southwest Athletic Complex.
In case of bad weather the camp may be
moved to the Lied Recreation Facility.
The Southwest Athletic Complex, home
to the Cyclone softball team since 1980, is widely regarded as one of the finest
fields in the Big 12. The stadium received a facelift in 2004-05 with the
addition of new bleachers, a backstop wall with protective padding and new
netting.
The facility, located at the corner
of Knapp and Sheldon streets, has permanent seating for 509 spectators. The
dimensions are 190 feet down the foul lines and 220 feet to center field. The
natural grass facility includes dugouts, an underground irrigation system,
batting cages, home and visitor bullpens and a press box. The press box, built
in 1997, includes working room for media and game day staff as well as
television camera decks.
